Facts have emerged about the meeting between Nigeria’s former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida and General Abdulsalami Abubakar

They also discussed the arrest and detention of some former governors
Barely 24 hours after President Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida and General Abdulsalami Abubakar met at Babangida’s hilltop residence, in Minna, We gathered that facts have started emerging from the meeting of the three former head of states.
According to sources close to Babangida who spoke to Daily Sun, the three former presidents discussed the health status of President Muhammad Buhari.
The source also revealed that the meeting was called by former President Obasanjo and Minna was chosen as the meeting venue.
“Minna was chosen as venue because of IBB’s health and the fact that he and Abdulsalami were in Minna and, therefore, it was convenient for Obasanjo to join them.
“The three former leaders also discussed other state matters, including the health of the president,” the source said.
We also learnt that the former presidents discussed about the arrest and detention of some former People Democratic Party (PDP) governors by security operatives and also, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the source, the former Nigerian presidents are concerned about the heated polity as a result of the arrest of many former governors at the same time.
The source said: “You know Sule Lamido and Babangida Aliyu are very close to Obasanjo and you know that recently, former Senate President, David Mark publicly expressed grave concern over the continued detention of his former governor, Suswam, by the Department of State Services (DSS) on allegations of being in possession of illegal fire arms.
We recalls that former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, his Benue counterpart; Gabriel Suswam and Sule Lamido of Jigawa state are presently in detentions.
Daily Sun also learnt that the meeting was expected to have in attendance former Minister of Defence, General Theophilius Danjuma who was absent eventually.
Recall that NAIJ reported that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), have met behind closed doors in Minna, the capital of Niger state.
The meeting took place on Monday, April 1. The meeting which lasted for over two hours was held at the hilltop home of former military president, IBB.
It was learnt that visitors who usually besiege Babangida’s house were streamlined, with some of them stopped from entering the house ahead of the arrival of former President Obasanjo at about 3:00pm yesterday.
