Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that the President Muhamamdu Buhari led federal government will engage 500,000 unemployed graduates this year, 2018.
While speaking in a chat with CNBC’s Chris Bishop, at the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), disclosed that the federal government has committed a total of N500 billion in the 2018 budget to engage 500,000 unemployed graduates in the year 2018.
The budgeted funds is part of the federal government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) designed to cater for the vulnerable and the poor.
Osinbajo, said that the federal government has been investing in the most ambitious social investment project in the country since 2016 which includes giving micro credit loans, and conditional cash transfers to the poorest of the poor.
He also said that a portal has been set up to easy up and help applicant to have easy access to the said Intervention programme.
