ACF says it is concerned about the statements credited to prominent Nigerians on President Buhari’s health
ACF national publicity secretary Muhammad Ibrahim Biu says Nigerians should pray for the president instead
Northern elders in the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) have expressed disappointment in comments by prominent Nigerians over President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.
The northern group therefore cautioned political elites against “careless remarks” on the matter and instead urged Nigerians to rather pray for the president.
Daily Trust reports that the forum conveyed this point in a statement released on Tuesday, May 2 by its national publicity secretary Muhammad Ibrahim Biu.
The statement noted that the ACF was concerned about the comments about the President’s health in the media which is credited to some prominent Nigerians.
The statement read: “What Nigerians need to do now is to pray for his good health and not to speculate or draw conclusions, which will do no one any good.
ACF advises Nigerians to please pray for the improvement of Mr. President’s health so that he can serve the nation with more vigour.
In addition, the ACF statement also advised the National Assembly to think of Nigeria above all other considerations as it addressed the seeming disorder and lack of cohesion between the National Assembly and the Presidency.
We recall that just on Tuesday, May 2, the national leadership of the APC stated that it would take time to study the views expressed by Chief Bisi Akande on President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.
APC’s national publicity secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said that the party’s national chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has stated that the party would not comment on Akande’s position in haste.
According to him, the party’s views of the former Osun state governor was very significant but would take time to analyse it before commenting on it.
